Can pressure swing adsorption for nitrogen production meet the needs of polysilicon production?
What purity level of nitrogen is required? It seems that pressure swing adsorption can achieve 5 nines for nitrogen! Should that be enough, right?
PSA nitrogen generators can meet the requirements; our company has manufactured nitrogen generators for polycrystalline silicon
For polysilicon, 99.999% purity is usually achieved through cryogenic methods; it’s rather difficult to attain such purity using pressure swing adsorption!
It’s possible to do it, but maintaining a purity of 5 nines over a long period of time is difficult; there may be degradation, and the amount of molecular sieve used needs to be increased.
The nitrogen used in polysilicon production that comes into contact with such processes is generally produced by cryogenic methods; it is difficult to maintain a high purity level using PSA for an extended period of time – in fact, this purity level cannot be achieved without the use of purification devices.
PSA nitrogen generation units can achieve 99.99%
Can domestic technology achieve the same? Is it possible to achieve this without using refining equipment? Domestic carbon molecular sieves.
It can be achieved without distillation; it seems that there is a university in China that is currently conducting research in this area, and has achieved considerable results, having reached world-class standards!
Which school is it? Could you provide more details? This post was last edited by vactory on 2009-3-28 09:53]
The pressure swing adsorption I use can achieve 5 nines for nitrogen! Should that be enough, right?
We specialize in PSA nitrogen production, and our Ruqi can produce nitrogen with a purity of 99.9995. This should meet your requirements.
As a side note, we produce it through a step-by-step legal process
With the one-step method, it is necessary to increase the amount of molecular sieve, and at the same time the flow rate decreases accordingly, right? If the molecular sieve gets contaminated with oil, would the plant have to be shut down? ?
Depending on the manufacturing process used, nitrogen plays a different role in the production of polysilicon, and the required flow rate and purity levels also vary. First, you need to determine in which stage nitrogen is used, as well as the specific flow rate and purity required, in order to decide whether PSA technology can meet your needs. If high flow rates and high purity are necessary, then cryogenic methods would be more suitable. If you’re interested, please send me your specific requirements to duwei@smc-igs.com. I work at SMC Asia Gas Systems Chengdu Co., Ltd., where we specialize in the production and sales of PSA and membrane nitrogen generation equipment; I hope I can help you
Sure, we specialize in PSA nitrogen production. We also offer hydrogen production methods such as ammonia decomposition, water electrolysis, and methanol cracking, as well as various pressure swing adsorption techniques for hydrogen extraction. Many polysilicon companies in Henan use our equipment for PSA nitrogen production and nitrogen purification; the hydrogen is produced through water electrolysis, and a hydrogen content of less than 1000 ppm is sufficient
If the equipment is operating properly, the quality of nitrogen will be more than sufficient
It is the year 2017, and a precision of 99.999% can be achieved; the highest value measured was 3 ppm.
