A pipe for the reaction liquid runs from bottom to top in the vertical direction. The pipe is DN25. A sleeve is made outside the pipe, and cooling water (softened water) is introduced to cool down the reaction liquid. What should be the direction of the cooling water? The design is low in and high, but does this mean that it becomes a parallel flow heat exchange? Why do I think that a counter flow heat exchange with high in and low out will be better?
I have seen similar ones in foreign factories that look like this. It may be because the high inlet and low outlet jackets have fast flow rates and poor heat exchange efficiency, or it may be because high heat exchange is not required to maintain the temperature. The countercurrent heat exchange effect is better than that of parallel flow heat exchange. During countercurrent heat exchange, the temperature of the cooling water in contact with the material when it leaves the heat exchanger is always kept at the lowest, thus ensuring the best heat exchange effect.; Therefore, sometimes due to actual working conditions on site, only parallel flow heat exchange can be used. ; Generally speaking, the cooling water flows in at a low level and at a high level. When the cooling water flows in at a high level and at a low level, it cannot ensure that the jacket is completely filled with water, causing the medium to not be entirely cooling water, affecting the cooling effect.
