Thermometer installation problem

Everyone knows that a thermometer is installed at the outlet of the heat exchanger or cooler. I would like to discuss or understand with you whether the thermometer should be installed in front of the outlet valve of the cold exchange equipment or after the valve? When I looked at some PID diagrams, I found that there was no good standard or anything. I didn't know whether this was wrong or right. Is there any basis for installing the thermometer in front of and behind the valve? What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a device? Please share your experiences with sea friends in the sea.

First, heat exchangers or coolers are generally pressure vessels, and holes or welding on the vessel interface pipes cannot be made casually. Second, temperature is an indicator to evaluate the heat transfer effect of the heat exchanger or cooler, and it is best to install it slightly away from the container.

I don't know if this view of the original poster is correct, but I always feel that your first point is understandable, but I don't quite agree with or understand the second point. If it is a little farther away from the container, the temperature of changing the number is not the temperature after the heat exchanger. It may be affected by the outside world and the error will be greater. Also, are the temperatures of the cooler and the heat exchanger installed different? Is one installed in front of the valve and the other behind the valve?
