There is a strong demand to create a section on evaporation

As an important part of the unit operations in chemical processing equipment, evaporation devices are widely used. However, there are many challenges associated with their design, operation, and tuning, and their application requires significant technical expertise. In my opinion, evaporation should be considered as a separate category within heat exchange equipment. What are others’ thoughts on this? Let’s talk about them all, shall we? Evaporation, as a unit operation, is similar to other unit operations such as drying/distillation. Although each of these devices relies on heat exchange in principle, some are still classified separately from heat exchangers. The idea put forward is good, but it has some drawbacks; my personal views are as follows: 1. People who come to our forum come from various industries and engage in different types of work. If a separate section for evaporation were created, only those working in this field would be likely to participate actively. Therefore, it’s necessary to conduct a survey first to see how many people are interested. We can’t just create such a section without thinking ahead about its future development. 2. There are already quite a number of sections on the forum. If we can’t find many relevant topics under the heat exchanger category, we can try using search functions to see if some of these topics have been scattered across other sections. Making good use of the forum’s search capabilities can help us solve some of our problems. Just like with the classification of heat exchangers, there may be multiple options depending on the perspective used; thus, we can consider the entire forum as an integrated whole.
