There’s a problem with the pipe support; it should be rechecked
If the pipe connection is fine. It is likely that cavitation has occurred in the transfer pump or the pump is damaged.
Check whether the pipeline design and installation are in compliance with standards. The fire pump in our facility used to be of this type: the pump’s outlet featured an eccentric reducer with dimensions of 100*350, followed by a short section of 20 cm in length, and then a 90° elbow. During the initial testing, the vibration was extremely high.
Reason: 1. Aging of the foundation or inadequate preparation; ⒉The pump wasn’t filled properly. Stop, let off some pressure before driving again. ⒊The inlet pressure is low (low raw material pressure, inlet blockage); identify the cause and take corrective action.
Is it a new pump or an old one? The pipeline is too thin to meet the flow requirements; there are too many bends, the support stiffness is insufficient, and resonance occurs due to the vibration of the pump.
Vibration is a tricky thing to deal with; many problems can manifest themselves as vibrations. Poor pump alignment, air in the pump, inadequate support from the pipe rack, excessive blockages in the pipes, loose foot bolts, etc.; in the case of piston pumps, vibration caused by pulsations is also a problem. The key is for someone to conduct a thorough inspection to rule out various possibilities and verify the historical records in order to identify the root cause.
Are the corner bolts of the pump loose? Is cavitation occurring in the pump?
It could be that the rotor is not properly balanced; in the case of high-speed pumps, it is necessary to check whether there are any issues with dynamic balance.
It’s definitely because the natural frequency of the pipeline installation is close to the operating frequency of the pump; re-supporting it and tightening the bolts, etc., can help
