Who knows what the prospects are for methanol to oil production at this stage?
No prospects. Coal-to-liquids may have a bright future, but methanol-to-liquids has no hope at all, because there are many more processes than indirect coal liquefaction, so there is no economic benefit.
The methanol-to-oil process is complex and involves many more steps than indirect coal liquefaction; the prospects are not optimistic!
I still think that the development prospects of methanol gasoline are better, although there are still many problems.
The prospect of methanol-to-liquids is not optimistic now because the current price difference between the two is too small! The process is complex and difficult to operate. Methanol to olefins is a better development prospect. Now only Shanxi Coal's 10,000-ton methanol-to-gasoline test project produces oil!
