Guardrail height

Safety requirements and/or facilities for guardrails: 1. Guardrails should be provided wherever there is a risk of falling. 2. Guardrails should be installed when the possible falling height exceeds 500 mm. 3. If the distance between the operating platform and the machine frame or wall is less than 200 mm, and the protection provided by the frame is equivalent to that of a guardrail, then no guardrail is required. However, when the distance between the operating platform and the adjacent frame is greater than 30 mm, a skid plate is required. 4. The minimum height of the handrail should be 1100 mm. 5. The guardrail shall include at least one middle crossbar or some other equivalent protection. The free space between the handrails and crossbars, as well as between the crossbars and the baseboards, should not exceed 500 mm. 6. When vertical poles are used in place of horizontal poles, the maximum horizontal spacing between adjacent vertical poles is 180 mm. 7. Skirtings with a minimum height of 100 mm should be installed no more than 10 mm away from the base surface. 8. The distance between the axes of each pillar should be limited to 1500 mm. If this distance is exceeded, special attention should be paid to the fixing strength of the pillars and the fixing devices. 9. When an intermediate handrail is present, the maximum clear distance between the two sections of the guardrail shall not exceed 120 mm. If there is a large opening, self-closing doors should be used. 10. The self-closing door shall be equipped with handrails and crossbars at the same height as those of the guardrail (for the exit section of the ladder, see GB 17888.4).

Safety technical requirements for fixed industrial protective railings GB 4053.3—93, 4.1 The height of the protective railing should be 1050 mm. The height of the protective railings on platforms, walkways, and work areas at a height of less than 20 meters above the ground must be no less than 1000 mm, while on platforms, walkways, and work areas at a height of 20 meters or more above the ground, the height of such railings must be no less than 1200 mm.

It’s usually around 800 mm; it’s best to check the standards, as requirements in this area are quite strict these days

The height of guardrails is generally between 1 meter and 1.2 meters

This standard specifies different height requirements for guardrails in various locations, ranging from 1.1 to 1.5 meters.

It’s usually a little over one meter, I guess. . . Have I really paid attention to this?

It seems that 1.2 meters is quite common

The statement on the 3rd floor is correct; it is regulated based on height.
