Help, hello everyone. The boss assigned me a task. The company needs to manufacture carbon steel containers with a diameter of 3.5 meters and a height of 6.8 meters. The lower part is conical, while the upper part is cylindrical. The voltage resistance is 3-4 kilograms. The internal medium is neutral mud water. Let’s take a look at how thick the cylinder and cone should be. Can it be processed using carbon steel? Which specific model should be used? Are there any better steel container manufacturing plants in China that have good welding skills? Because there are still some important items inside that need to be welded properly. The requirements for such containers are relatively low; ordinary carbon steel Q235 is sufficient. As long as it is a manufacturing plant with the qualifications to produce pressure vessels, its welding capabilities and management standards are generally guaranteed.
Carbon steel will do; a wall thickness of around 6 mm is generally suitable. The exact thickness depends on your structure, particularly on the layout of the internal and external frameworks.
Material grade Q235-A (when low requirements apply) or Q235-B, with a wall thickness of 6–8 mm is sufficient.
The lower cone not only fails to make full use of the material but also increases the difficulty of construction. It is recommended to change it to a cylinder.
