I passed the CET-6 in the first two years, so I was told that I didn’t need to take it anymore. I would like to ask what are the requirements for English proficiency for those who want to become registered chemical engineers? What level is required? Thank you
There is no such requirement, and the exam is not in English either
Registered professionals do not need to take an English exam like those required for advancing in their professional title, and they must attend training prior to registration (which is educational in nature and should be easy to complete); there is no requirement regarding English proficiency levels.
As far as I know, registration does not require an English test; only the professional title exam has English requirements
To be honest, I can’t say much in praise of that professional English exam; it’s unlikely that anyone fails it. Those who advocate for keeping such exams are simply trying to make more money. I didn’t even retake it; I left about 45 minutes before the exam ended. I got 93 points – what’s the point of that?:)

The English test for professional titles is indeed easy to pass; I scored 96 points in the exam in 2008. By comparing the review materials from that year with those from 2007, I found that some of the new questions were actually identical to those in the exam – the content of the articles was the same, but the way the questions were phrased differed. One question is a reading comprehension test, and the other is a cloze test (there are just two questions; it’s basically a choice of one out of two).
Professional English tests are nothing but a way to scam people out of their money; they are mainly aimed at those who graduated from junior vocational schools, where passing the English exam at level four was sufficient, and studying for just a day or two before the exam was enough.

It seems I won’t have to worry about the professional English test next year; I thought it would be just as difficult as the CPA exam
