Our factory converts coke oven gas to methanol and uses three-tower distillation. Recently, the product quality has fluctuated, and the water solubility, acidity, and ethanol have exceeded standards. When the feed volume is 17-18M3/h, methanol specific gravity is predicted. The outlet of the pre-tower condenser is at 50°C, the temperature of the pressurized tower is 137°C, the reflux flow is 20m3/h, the reflux flow of the atmospheric tower is 16.5M3/h, and the residual liquid also exceeds the standard. Please help solve it.
There are two possibilities for acidity and ethanol exceeding the standard.: 1. The amount of alkali added to the pre-tower is not enough ; 2. The fusel oil in the side line was not extracted in time. Depending on your processing capacity, the reflux volume of the pressurized tower is slightly smaller. This mainly depends on your product requirements, whether it is GB grade or American standard high-quality product. If the national standard grade reflux is enough, the separation effect of the tower internal parts may not be good. Normal pressure column reactors generally have a recovery tower to ensure that the fusel alcohol and wastewater meet the standards. If you need further information, please provide detailed working conditions: Feed amount, feed composition ; Operating pressure and temperature of each tower, layout conditions of tower internal parts, etc.
Check the water solubility of the prognostic solution, strengthen the extraction, increase the amount of alkali solution appropriately, and control the pH value of the prognostic solution at around 9. Insufficient reflux ratio is the main reason for the ethanol exceeding the standard. The waste liquid does not meet the standard, mainly due to insufficient side line extraction, or low liquid level in the atmospheric tower and low temperature of the sensitive plate in the stripping section.
