There isn’t a fixed value for this pressure, I know that the pressure of the waste steam generated after power production through thermal power generation in ammonia synthesis plants is 0.7 MPa, but it still depends on the amount of electricity to be produced and the steam requirements of the manufacturing process. The secondary steam can be condensed and reused in the boiler, or steam at this pressure that can be utilized in the production process can also be used; ammonia synthesis plants make use of waste steam at 0.7 MPa in the gas production section. As long as the waste steam meets the process requirements, it can be utilized – there are no other restrictions!
In the case of a condensing steam turbine, there is no issue with secondary steam, as it condenses into water. For back-pressure type turbines, the user can simply choose based on the back-pressure parameters as well as the parameters required by the user.

Yes, the turbines in our company are of the back-pressure type; they use steam at a pressure of 3.5 Mpa, with a superheated steam temperature of over 420 degrees. After the turbines generate power, the exhaust steam pressure is generally above 0.8 Mpa. This steam is then fed into the low-pressure steam network and supplied to various units that require steam for their operations! !
The pressure of the secondary steam after passing through the steam-driven turbine should be designed in advance, and the balance of the steam system must be ensured. Secondary steam can be used as a heat source for heaters or supplied to other users.
The application of backpressure steam is usually identified at the design stage; in winter, our backpressure steam is used for heating, and during other seasons it is used to drive the circulation water pumps, which I think is a reasonable approach
