In the shell-side performance section of FINAL RESULTS, the values such as FLOW FRACTIONS FOR HEAT TRANSFER 0.851 and ABCEF – what do these mean? What do each of these values represent and what is their significance?
A, B, C, E, F should be the proportions of each flow path in the shell side. It is generally covered in books that introduce the flow inside heat exchangers.
A tube-to-baffle leakage B main cross-flow C bundle-to-shell bypass E baffle-to-shell leakage F pass-partition bypass
The value of B flow should be as large as possible; otherwise, the efficiency will be low
