How to increase popularity in the oil field and chemical industries

I work in oil field engineering; I have been in this field since graduating from an oil college and continued working there until retirement, and I am still contributing my expertise to this field today. 1) Personally, I think it’s not easy to increase the number of posts, but some people can first add more materials to the technical information sharing section. This way, when users search online, they are more likely to find the forum (I’ve tried this myself: when searching on Baidu for content similar to that available on Haichuan, the Haichuan website often appears as a result). As long as there are good materials on the forum, there’s no need to worry that people won’t visit it frequently; once enough people come, the forum will surely become popular. 2) It seems that the moderators don’t give very high scores; I noticed that some posts have only a score from one moderator, while other moderators should also provide their ratings to motivate those who upload the materials. I think the opinions from above are quite good. Unlike other sections, there are relatively few professionals here; most people come to discuss learning*. Addition: 1. Provide an overview of the upstream and downstream processes in oil and gas fields (extraction, purification, transportation, etc.). 2. Discuss what are the key aspects of technological upgrades and improvements, as well as any new trends.

I started working at the oil field in 1970. Although now retired, I am still putting my skills to use in oil field engineering supervision. I personally think I have learned a lot of knowledge from Haichuan Network – Oilfield Block Science*. I still think this entity needs to be built up and strengthened. The reason for the small number of users in this section is that it requires high professionalism; providing expert-level answers is difficult, and it is also hard to help netizens resolve their problems promptly. This requires, on the one hand, the recruitment of expert-level talent ； On the other hand, it is necessary to intensify publicity efforts.

Personally, I think more Q&A activities could be organized. Everyone shares the phenomena and problems they encounter in their work; if they have already figured things out, they can share the process and results, and if they haven’t yet resolved them, everyone can discuss them together to find a solution. After all, the conditions vary from one oil field to another, and different blocks have distinct characteristics; a new problem that has just arisen in one oil field might have already been resolved in other oil fields.
