Can a degree in science qualify one to become a registered engineer?

Any citizen of the People’s Republic of China who complies with **laws and regulations, adheres to professional ethics, and meets one of the following conditions may apply to take the basic examination: 1. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in this field (such as Chemical Engineering and Technology, Polymer Materials and Engineering, Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Light Chemical Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, etc.) or a related field (such as Process Equipment and Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, etc.). 2. Hold an associate degree in this field or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry. 3. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 1 year of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work. Those who have passed the basic examination and meet one of the following conditions may apply to take the professional examination: 1. Having obtained a doctoral degree in this field, with at least 2 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a doctoral degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 3 years. 2. After obtaining a master’s degree in this field, have accumulated at least 3 years of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry ； Or, after obtaining a master’s degree in a related field, having accumulated at least 4 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. 3. Obtain a double bachelor’s degree including this major, or complete a postgraduate program in this field, and have accumulated at least 4 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, having obtained a double bachelor’s degree in a related field or graduating from a graduate program, with at least 5 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. 4. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a university that has passed the educational evaluation for this field, have at least 4 years of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry ； Or, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a university that has not passed the evaluation for education in this field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 5 years ； Or, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in a related field, having accumulated at least 6 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. 5. After obtaining an associate degree in this field, have accumulated at least 6 years of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry ； Or, after obtaining an associate degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 7 years. 6. Having obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 8 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work.
