With a degree in chemistry (science), and work experience in chemical engineering design, can one take the Certified Chemical Engineer exam? Thank you!
Any citizen of the People’s Republic of China who complies with **laws and regulations, adheres to professional ethics, and meets one of the following conditions may apply to take the basic examination: 1. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in this field (such as Chemical Engineering and Technology, Polymer Materials and Engineering, Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Light Chemical Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, etc.) or a related field (such as Process Equipment and Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, etc.). 2. Hold an associate degree in this field or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry. 3. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 1 year of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work. Those who have passed the basic examination and meet one of the following conditions may apply to take the professional examination: 1. Having obtained a doctoral degree in this field, with at least 2 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ; Or, after obtaining a doctoral degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 3 years. 2. After obtaining a master’s degree in this field, have accumulated at least 3 years of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry ; Or, after obtaining a master’s degree in a related field, having accumulated at least 4 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. 3. Obtain a double bachelor’s degree including this major, or complete a postgraduate program in this field, and have accumulated at least 4 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ; Or, having obtained a double bachelor’s degree in a related field or graduating from a graduate program, with at least 5 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. 4. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a university that has passed the educational evaluation for this field, have at least 4 years of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry ; Or, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a university that has not passed the evaluation for education in this field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 5 years ; Or, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in a related field, having accumulated at least 6 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. 5. After obtaining an associate degree in this field, have accumulated at least 6 years of experience in engineering design work related to the chemical industry ; Or, after obtaining an associate degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 7 years. 6. Having obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 8 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work.
