The manufacturer requested that the flat-face flanges be converted into loose-flange types, claiming it would facilitate installation. May I ask if loose-flange connections are used, does the length of the bolts need to be increased? Additionally, the manufacturer said that the price increased after using loose-flange connections, with each one costing 500 more. I’m not sure if it’s right?
The bolt length needs to be increased. If it’s a stainless steel flange, a loose-flange version should be cheaper

Under normal circumstances, the butt-weld flanges and loose-flange types used in ordinary companies are all manufactured from sheet metal

The bolts need to be lengthened; after changing to swivel collars, more material is used, so the price should be higher
Like other flanges such as loose-flange flanges and butt-welded flanges, once you choose a particular type, there are corresponding bolts available. Of course, if one must compare the bolts used with loose-flange connections to those used with butt-weld flanges, then since loose flanges have a short section each, and the thickness of this short section is greater than that of the sealing surface protrusion on butt-weld flanges, the bolts required are naturally longer as well. As for the price, it’s not certain.
For flanges made of the same specification material, those with a loose fit generally require more material and are therefore more expensive. The amplitude depends on the specific specifications.
