I majored in process engineering and am currently working at a petrochemical company; I would like to switch to the field of process design. I’ve attended job fairs, and I’ve always been asked if I have any design experience; it’s really frustrating. I want to learn on my own first. I would like to ask those of you who work in design firms or engineering companies on process design: what process design software do I need to learn? Thank you!
Pro II is easier to get started with, while Aspen has a wider range of applications. Learning how to use one set of software is generally sufficient. Good luck! :handshake

Learn the basics of AutoCAD first!
AutoCAD and Aspen are great
Regarding simulation software, if you often perform calculations involving known components, it is recommended to use Aspen Plus; if you frequently carry out calculations related to oils, Pro/II is the recommended choice
Learn the basics of AutoCAD, as well as analysis techniques such as stress, magnetic fields, and heat analysis using ANSYS; also learn chemical engineering simulation using Aspen.
AutoCAD is sufficient!
