Where are you from? I’m not sure what the problem is in your case; generally, the water output from a BAF process can approach or meet secondary treatment standards.
May I ask what advanced oxidation technology the original poster is using? I am promoting the use of ozone oxidation along with the reuse of ozone-rich exhaust gases for aeration in biological treatment tanks; perhaps we could work together (we don’t handle engineering work). The BAF should belong to the third generation of biofilm reactors; it not only possesses the advantages of biofilm process technology but also serves as an effective means of spatial filtration. Currently, the renovation of water treatment plants is highly efficient; in terms of treatment performance and operation, it is also quite effective for dealing with wastewater from the petrochemical and coking industries.

In my opinion, BAF is not very suitable for use in the petroleum and petrochemical industry; firstly, the wastewater from this industry contains oil, which is harmful to biological membranes. The water supply for the second petroleum and petrochemical industry has poor biochemical properties, and its quality is uneven; under normal conditions it is fine, but once the water quality becomes unstable, it is difficult to meet the required standards.
