I wonder if anyone else shares this feeling – foreign languages are becoming increasingly important these days. I often encounter issues related to foreign language translation at work, as we have increasing contact with countries abroad. During my time as an official moderator, I’ve noticed that there are many questions related to foreign language translation in this forum. Many of these issues cannot be resolved within a single thread; when it comes to foreign language translation, I suggest posting the question in the foreign language section first to see how others handle it, after all, our proficiency in foreign languages is limited. Many people, just like me, have just passed CET-4, hehe. In the foreign language section, translations for common nouns used in various sections can also be summarized; of course, we need everyone’s support for this as well. A small suggestion, for reference only. I hope that HAICHUAN’s members can see overall improvement in their foreign language skills. :)

I’m used to reading in Chinese; I have an exam in professional English in a few days. I still can’t do anything; it’s worrying. It needs to be strengthened in the future.

Yeah, the popularity in foreign language areas isn’t high yet!
How can one determine the popularity of a district? Just based on the number of posts? If each reply consists only of brief words, it is of little use in solving practical problems or deepening the discussion. In the past few days, the number of posts posted daily in the Chemical Engineering English forum has exceeded 100, but the proportion of topic posts that receive more than 10 replies is very small. Based on this alone, I am not in favor of posting too many topic posts daily; it’s a great achievement to focus on resolving and explaining the issues raised in each post, rather than simply pursuing a high number of posts. Looking at other major foreign language forums in China, the number of posts posted per day there is only in the dozens; in comparison, our forum is incredibly popular!
I think there’s no shortage of popularity in English-speaking areas these days; 50+ posts per day in the general section is quite normal, which is why I say there’s no lack of popularity. Compared to larger districts such as the Foreign Language District and the Craft District, it started developing later. Although it is now a shining star among HaiChuan’s districts, there are still many areas that need improvement. *nglai member, I guess your rapid advancement to middle school isn’t unrelated to being in the Foreign Language District – you were quite active there as well. I hope that, if time permits, you will be more involved in our HaiChuan and our foreign language section. More member participation and engagement are needed, so I fully support the original poster’s initiative to encourage more people to join our foreign language section. If you encounter problems related to foreign languages, post them in the corresponding discussion forum in the foreign languages section. But when posting, try to indicate the problem in the topic (it’s best to check the posting requirements first). Haichuan is a large family, and the primary task of the Foreign Languages Section is to address the relevant issues that fellow Haichuan members encounter in their work. So feel free to post questions if you have any, but many issues require fundamental solutions and certain expertise to address them; therefore, we hope that relevant professionals will actively participate in the discussions so that these questions can be resolved as soon as possible.

Since I manage the forum only after work or at lunchtime, and I don’t have headphones on my computer, I will participate more in the activities of the foreign language section in the future, and I’ll also learn the posting rules for that section as soon as possible.
