I’m planning to take the IELTS exam soon as a preparation for going abroad or working in the future. However, I know very little about it and haven’t been exposed to it much before. I would be grateful if those who have taken the exam could give me some advice on how to prepare for it. It would also be great if you could recommend some good study materials, as well as any useful websites. Thank you very much~~~
The building is mainly useful for going to the Commonwealth to take the IELTS exam; it’s not very useful if one is looking for a job. Of course, it can also be used as a means to promote one’s own learning. First of all, I took the IELTS exam at the beginning of 2004. I haven’t seen anything related to it since then; please forgive any differences between what was mentioned and what is tested now. My feeling is that IELTS is an exam that focuses on language skills; there’s not much emphasis on pure grammar, and it contains many subjective questions. This requires you to not only be able to understand what is said and read, but also to be able to write down the answers; thus, there’s no longer any 1/4 chance in multiple-choice questions. Whether it’s materials or websites, everything I know is from years ago; moreover, I hardly ever watched the content on New Oriental when I bought its subscription back then. There are simulation tests or actual exam papers that can be used for reference; also, if time permits, it’s a good idea to study more model essays – achieving a score of 6 isn’t a big problem at all.
To be honest, I haven’t graduated yet, so I don’t know how likely it is for me to go abroad in the future. I just want to motivate myself and also gain an edge in terms of competition. Thank you~~
