Shortcuts can be used to simulate distillation columns; it is necessary to input the light and heavy key components, so that the optimal inlet position and the minimum reflux ratio can be calculated. However, since the acid gas absorption tower has no reflux and no components that need to be recovered, it is unclear whether it can be simulated; I would appreciate your advice. Two conditions need to be specified as input, namely the concentrations of the key light and heavy components in the two outlet streams. However, such absorption towers have only the condition that the concentration of acidic gases at the gas outlet must reach a certain level – what should be done in this case?
It seems not possible; SHORTCUT calculations use the Gilliland correlation, and reflux is required

A distillation column is used directly; the initial number of trays is generally set between 6 and 10, with the actual number of trays being adjusted based on the temperature, pressure, and concentration at the column outlet.
Use the distillation column module directly, select without a condenser and reboiler; the gas phase to be absorbed enters the last stage, while the absorbent enters the top of the column. It is sufficient to adjust parameters such as the required theoretical number of stages, the amount of absorbent, and whether heat exchange is needed, based on the absorption requirements.
It seems that shortcuts can only be used for a single feed stream; they do not support two feed streams, so I think they cannot be used to simulate an absorption tower.
