Please feel free to share with us what kind of gaskets are generally used in the refining equipment of your unit. For example, on the equipment, cold exchange equipment, steam lines, etc., if they are used with good results, please share them.
Basically they are metal spiral wound gaskets
All asbestos pads are not used. Generally, metal graphite winding pads are better. Corrugated pads are used for high temperature and high pressure, and metal octagonal pads are used.
Generally, metal pads are used now, and they are divided into many pressure levels.
Common devices such as atmospheric and vacuum pressure, catalytic cracking, gas separation, and tank areas are metal wound mats. . . There are more hydrogenated metal octagonal pads. . . :lol
Most of our gaskets are wound gaskets, which are internally reinforced and externally reinforced. We use high-pressure gaskets for hydrogenation, which are metal gaskets.
I think the use of sealing gaskets is mainly determined by the properties of the medium, such as pressure/temperature/corrosiveness, etc. We generally use graphite wound gaskets, inner and outer ring metal gaskets, corrugated gaskets, elliptical gaskets, octagonal gaskets, etc.
Nowadays, wound gaskets are generally used. Select according to pressure level. Asbestos gaskets have been basically eliminated. Asbestos gaskets cause a lot of trouble during maintenance.
We use metal wound gaskets, graphite steel ring wound gaskets (divided into inner rings and outer rings), and corrugated toothed gaskets are better. Generally, asbestos pads are no longer needed! ~
The recirculation system of our catalytic device basically uses corrugated gaskets.; ; The slurry and refining oil systems of fractionation systems also use corrugated gaskets ; High-temperature and high-pressure systems such as external heat extraction and residual pot use steel washers (octagonal washers, of course corresponding trapezoidal groove flanges) ; Basically, other parts use basic spiral wound gaskets. ; Imported asbestos gaskets are used in the manholes, coolers and other parts of the gas separation device. In fact, strict regulations are not implemented. Sometimes the construction unit will not let you use gaskets as required unless you have someone knowledgeable to supervise the construction.
Generally, metal graphite winding pads are used in high-temperature and high-pressure equipment such as hydrogenation reactors, high and low graders, etc., metal octagonal pads are used.
This has nothing to do with technology. It depends on which manufacturer has more rebates.
