What is the freezing point of acetic acid? Are the pipes for transporting acetic acid insulated or heated? I would appreciate guidance from experienced comrades.
It needs to be treated differently depending on the environment and concentration. Soluble in water, ether, and glycerin; insoluble in carbon disulfide. It undergoes esterification reactions with alcohols. It can be seen that pure acetic acid needs to be kept at a constant temperature through heating; hot water or low-pressure steam can be used for this purpose, or electric heating could also be considered (since steam and similar methods are not convenient). Pure anhydrous acetic acid (glacial acetic acid) is a colorless, hygroscopic liquid with a freezing point of 16.7 °C (62 °F); it forms colorless crystals upon freezing.
At 16.7℃, both heat retention and heating are required; we use steam for heating
The chemical dictionary states that the melting point is 16.7 degrees; I think there is a difference between the melting point and the freezing point
