Does that expert have any cases or feasibility studies related to coal-to-methanol and IGCC combined power generation projects?
You need to go and get this from Yankuang, or from Huaneng.
It seems that this technology isn’t available in China yet. As for what’s known as IGCC, China actually doesn’t have any facilities of this type yet, but several projects have been initiated; as far as I know, there is one in Fujian, one in Sichuan, and one in Wuhan, I think. This one in Fujian is supposed to be the first to start operations; it’s planned to begin operating in June. Hehe, I’m from around here. This unit in Fujian uses asphalt, while the other units use coal; however, coal is not used to produce methanol. IGCC is primarily used as a utility island, with the aim of balancing steam, hydrogen, and electricity throughout the plant. If your goal is to produce methanol as a product, then you shouldn’t go ahead with IGCC.
Yankuang Guotai currently has a methanol co-generation power generation system, which is part of the **\"863\" project; as of now, it is operating well. Both gas power generation and new gasifiers are **\"863\" projects.
