The leachate levels (for a single leaching cycle) are as follows: Fe: 2 kg/m3, Mg: 0.8 kg/m3, Ca: 1.5 kg/m3, Cu: 0.8 kg/m3, Co: 0.16 kg/m3, Ni: 0.07 kg/m3, Mn: 0.012 kg/m3, Zn: 0.02 kg/m3; pH: 1.5. During the experiment, iron exists in the form of ferrous ions, and the system consists of 2 mol/l ammonium chloride
To recycle copper and cobalt, does one need to remove iron and separate nickel?
In my opinion, the general plan could be as follows: copper extraction — impurity removal using P204 — extraction and separation of nickel and cobalt using P507.

The nickel and cobalt content in this solution is too low. First, iron removal is carried out chemically: the pH is adjusted to 2.5 using a base to remove iron, followed by chemical removal of calcium and magnesium. Copper and zinc are removed using 204 as a purification agent. After that, C272 is used to concentrate nickel and cobalt to a certain level, after which back-extraction is performed

For the cobalt system, it may not be necessary to remove calcium and magnesium; magnesium can be removed through extraction, and by adjusting the extraction pH and performing washing, magnesium can be left in the nickel solution. Huayou is said to be doing this!
