I’m now in my third year of college; I’ve already obtained my CET-4, CET-6, and Computer Level 2 certificates, and I’m currently studying my specialized courses. Many of my classmates are taking exams for other certifications, such as accounting certificates, Computer Level 3 certificates, Certified Software Engineer qualifications, teacher qualification certificates, Japanese Level 3 certificates, and so on. I don’t think these have anything to do with my major. What do you all think? Will these certificates give me an advantage when looking for a job? If not, what other certifications do I need to obtain?

A certificate means nothing; it can only indirectly indicate that a person has strong backing, but knowledge and learning abilities are what truly matter! It mainly comes down to one’s own professional knowledge, as well as the software commonly used in the chemical industry; one can learn some programming if they have time. The former is the foundation, while the latter two are tools. Some of those messy certificates don’t hold much value; don’t study just for the sake of obtaining them*. There is a difference between actual work and taking exams, and in the future there won’t be many situations with only one correct answer – only the best options will exist.
I don’t think any certificates are necessary anymore. From now on, you need to consider one thing: what do you want to do in the future, and what can you do well? How should you go about it? Obtaining too many certificates is a waste of time; it’s better to think about what useful benefits you can gain from it!
