Steam superheating is the process of converting unsaturated steam into saturated steam molecules, a result of the steam absorbing a large amount of heat; it can also be attributed to heat transfer with some substance at a higher temperature
First, heating saturated steam can produce superheated steam, such as in the superheaters of ordinary boilers. Second, reducing the pressure of saturated steam can also yield superheated steam under certain conditions.
Saturated steam becomes superheated steam after being depressurized
The definition of superheated steam is that when all the water in wet steam vaporizes, it becomes saturated steam; at this point, the temperature of the steam remains at the boiling point. If saturated steam is further heated, raising its temperature above the boiling point, the steam obtained at this point is called superheated steam.
