Is crude gasoline or straight-run gasoline a better choice as a terminator for catalytic reactions?
From an economic perspective, straight-run gasoline is a better choice; after all, it has a low octane rating and cannot be shipped directly from the factory.
Depending on the specific conditions of the equipment, our plant has used crude gasoline as well as sulfur-containing wastewater.
Using crude gasoline is a good option for three reasons. First, crude gasoline contains a certain amount of water, which is usually acidic; such water works well as a terminator, but it can cause coking in the sedimentator. The gasoline present in crude gasoline helps to mitigate this problem of coking. Second, crude gasoline contains water, and it is relatively cheaper than straight-run diesel. From the perspective of overall plant balance, in the absence of reforming or aromatization units, using straight-run gasoline as a catalyst terminator or employing FDFCC technology are both excellent methods for processing straight-run gasoline. . . I agree with this view. . . :lol
There won’t be a significant difference in terms of the reaction, but using straight-run gasoline can solve the issue of what to do with it, as well as increase economic benefits; we have been using straight-run gasoline all along.
I agree with the view from floor 5: if straight-run gasoline has no useful application, it is more economical to use it as a terminator rather than crude gasoline; however, sulfur-containing wastewater can also be used.
In my opinion, the choice of such a terminator depends on the overall setup of the plant; if there are reformation or aromatization units, it is better to use crude gasoline or sulfur-containing wastewater. This helps to save on pipeline costs, and it also makes it easier to prevent freezing and condensation in winter. Since catalytic units already have access to crude gasoline and sulfur-containing wastewater, using these materials is convenient, and maintenance is also simpler when not in use, offering certain economic benefits. If conditions permit, we can also use components that cannot be recycled by other devices, such as the condensate from fuel gas and the substandard gasoline produced when the plant is shut down.
It depends on the situation; we have used both normal steam, coarse steam, and sulfur-containing wastewater. Again, it’s not necessarily necessary to use a terminator. It mainly depends on the properties of the crude oil. We haven’t been able to use it for over a year now, as it affects the yield.
We have always used crude gasoline; we even use substandard gasoline as well. I don’t understand why we need to use straight-run gasoline?
