Why is SQL running? ?

After installing 2006, there’s an MSSQLServer icon that starts running automatically as soon as the system boots up in the lower right corner. I unchecked the box next to \"Auto-start service when OS starts\", but it still runs automatically every time. What is this thing supposed to do, and why does it run continuously?

In the Aspen software, a lot of data is stored in the form of databases, which facilitates the software’s retrieval and use of that data. SQL Server must be running for the data in Aspen to be usable by the program. Therefore, it cannot be turned off, otherwise it will affect the use of the program.

For that automatically running thing, just go to “Start”–“Run” and delete the SQL Server entry there (right-click to delete it)
