Can a shortcut simulate the sidetrack production condition?

Why do I get two control variables when I add the side line? Moreover, it does not converge after defining the control variables
And sometimes it’s hard to know from which tray the side line comes out; it seems quite troublesome
Shortcuts are only effective for calculating the theoretical plate number in non-polar systems. Other ones are hardly needed (advice from PROII technical support staff)

It’s generally better to avoid using shortcuts; they aren’t very useful. Even if you manage to calculate an approximate number of theoretical plates, it’s still better to ask experienced colleagues about the approximate plate efficiency – that way you can get the answer you need
For side sampling, I usually pick the board from which the desired component has a high purity level; if I’m not sure, I test the boards in the vicinity as well to find one with good results. Shortcut does not recommend side sampling
