Eight of the most classic questions in professional life

I read an article online that had an impact on me, so I’d like to share it with everyone. To develop a good career plan, one must first figure out: what kind of experience do you want to have in the workplace? To answer this question, it’s very important to ask yourself these eight classic workplace questions... Question 1: If there’s a restaurant near your home that serves expensive and tasteless food, with cockroaches on the tables, would you still go there over and over again just because it’s convenient? Answer: You’d surely say, What a stupid question – who would be that foolish as to pay money for such suffering? But in a different situation, you might end up doing something similar. Many men and women have complained that their lovers or spouses have bad character, are infidel, and are irresponsible. Knowing that there’s no good outcome in being together, with resentment outweighing love, yet \"for some reason\" one still continues to be involved with that person and can’t break up. To put it plainly, it’s just out of reluctance, out of habit – isn’t that the same as going to a restaurant? — Why must one be so persistent in life?!Question 2: If you accidentally lose 100 dollars and think it might be somewhere you’ve been, would you spend 200 dollars on transportation just to get those 100 dollars back?
Answer: A super stupid question. Yet, similar things keep happening in life. Doing something wrong, knowing one has a problem yet refusing to admit it; instead, spending double the time coming up with excuses, which greatly undermines how others perceive that person. Being scolded with a few words yet spending countless hours feeling sad – it’s the same principle. Getting angry over something, willing to harm others and suffer losses for one’s own sake, spending money and time all in the name of revenge – isn’t that equally pointless? Losing someone’s affection, knowing that nothing can be undone yet still feeling so sad, staying sad for years on end, relying on alcohol to ease the pain, until one becomes emaciated. Actually, this is of no use at all; it only leads to more losses. ——As a human being, why make things difficult for yourself?! Question 3: Would you avoid going outside just because reading the newspaper shows that there are car accidents every day? Answer: What a stupid question. Of course not; that would be giving up eating just because of a few problems. However, many people have said that with the high divorce rate these days, they don’t even dare to get into a relationship. It’s said as if it’s completely obvious. There are also many women who, after reading various reports on the subject, become worried about their partners – isn’t that a similar reaction? What optimism really means is believing that, despite the many difficulties along the way, I am still the person who can cross the road safely; as long as I am careful, there’s no need to be afraid of crossing the road. ——To be a person, one must first believe in oneself. Question 4: Do you believe that anyone can succeed in building a career just by chance? Answer: Of course not. But it has been observed that after listening to the earnest advice given by successful people – such as reading more and practicing more – some people still ask another question: Isn’t that too difficult? We all want to master English in 3 minutes and solve all our problems in 5 minutes; is success really that easy? Change is certainly difficult. Success comes from not fearing difficulties, which is why one can stand out. Once, while sitting in a taxi, I heard the driver, seeing luxury cars in front of and behind him, sigh and say, “Ah, why are other people so rich, while it’s so difficult for me to earn money?” On a whim, I asked him, “What do you think are the kinds of money that are easy to earn?” He couldn’t answer right away; after some time he said, “It seems like it’s easier to earn other people’s money.” In fact, every success is achieved through hard work. We really shouldn’t complain about fate. ——In life, one must rely on oneself! Question 5: Do you think someone who has never played basketball at all can be a good basketball coach? Answer: Of course not; an amateur cannot lead professionals. However, there are many people who know absolutely nothing about a particular industry; they simply hear that it’s profitable and then start a business in it right away. I’ve seen people who have no sense of style when it comes to clothing, or who simply don’t care about how they look, yet still dream of opening a clothing store. There are also those who don’t know how to turn on a computer but want to chat online; they rely on hearsay instead of reflecting on whether their lack of professional skills is the problem, and they only complain that time isn’t on their side. ——In life, act according to your capabilities. Question 6: A similar but different question: Do you think a basketball coach can achieve a perfect victory without stepping onto the court and with his eyes closed? Answer: That’s crazy; of course it’s impossible. Yet there are many friends who, despite not having the time to take care of things themselves, rush to invest in opening cafes, restaurants, or businesses they don’t understand at all; they eagerly spend their hard-earned savings in an attempt to become investors in a hasty and careless manner. You always lose more than you win, yet you think it’s due to bad luck rather than a problem with your approach. ——As a person, remember to reflect on yourself. Question 7: Would you rather regret it forever than give it a try and see if you can turn defeat into victory? Answer: I’m afraid no one would say, “Yes, that’s exactly what kind of coward I am.” Yet, we often give up desperately at times when we shouldn’t, too afraid of failure to even try for success. Take Guan Yingshan’s outstanding performance when she won the 2000 World Figure Skating Championships as an example: she was determined to win first place, yet before the final competition she was only in third place in the overall score. In her final free-skating routine, she chose to take risks rather than try to make fewer mistakes. In the 4-minute program, the most difficult triple axel was included, and it was even boldly performed twice in a row. She might also have lost badly, but she succeeded after all. She said, “Because I don’t want to wait until I fail and then regret not having utilized my potential.” ” A great Chinese leader once said: The hope for victory and the restoration of favorable circumstances often arise from making one more effort to persevere. ——In life, why not take a chance? Question 8: You have unlimited time and live forever, so should the things you most want to do be postponed indefinitely? Answer: No, only a fool would think so. Yet we often say, \"When I’m older, I’ll travel around the world; when I retire, I’ll do what I want to do; once my children grow up, I’ll be able to…\" We all think we have unlimited time and energy. In fact, we can achieve our ideals step by step, without wasting our lives in waiting. If we could work step by step to get closer now, we wouldn’t spend half of our lives only to end up with the outcome we least want to see. ——As a human being, one should live in the present.
