As the title suggests, there is an elbow on an elliptical head, and the distance from this elbow to the outer wall of the cylinder is given as a minimum value. How can this distance be determined?
It should be ensured that the distance from the takeover to the outer wall of the cylinder does not affect the upper flange bolts.

In fact, it’s just asking you to install a tangent pipe on the outermost side of the head. Holes can be made in any area of the head; the calculation methods for strengthening holes vary. There are no specific requirements regarding heat treatment, etc. However, one thing to keep in mind is that if the minimum size specified is achieved, it is possible for the length-to-diameter ratio of the hole to exceed 2, which goes beyond the range applicable to hole-strengthening methods as defined in GB150.
