I have only recently started working with coal slurry gasification, and I would like to ask everyone about the uses of high- and low-pressure nitrogen in this process. Also, is it necessary to use a nitrogen compressor for gasification? What pressure is required for nitrogen at a gasification pressure of 6.5 MPa? Can the nitrogen obtained from the air separation unit (whose pressure is 22 MPa) meet the requirements, without the need for a nitrogen compressor?
High-pressure nitrogen is used for purging the feed pipelines and as part of the gas seal (safety system). Low-pressure nitrogen is primarily used for purging the system before and after replacing the process burners, as well as in torch systems. In our factory, the pressure of high-pressure nitrogen is 13.2 MPA, while that of low-pressure nitrogen is 0.45 MPA; it comes from the air separation unit
An nitrogen pressure of 8.5 MPa is sufficient to enter the gasification zone. Nitrogen serves several functions such as purging, displacement, sealing, and protection, and the required pressure varies for each function; typical values are 13.2, 5.9, 1.0, and 0.5 MPa.
Could you roughly describe what happens to N2 at different pressure levels? In other words, what is its fate? It would be great if you could provide information on the amount consumed as well. Hehe
May I ask which ones need to be purged with nitrogen and which ones need to be purged with steam? Can they all be purged with nitrogen?
I have a question: how do I determine the amounts of high-pressure and low-pressure nitrogen?
