I still mainly focus on looking at the temperature trend lines – I adjust the level of the side that is high by lowering it, and I raise the level of the side that is low. Adjusting the furnace deviation is really abstract. I’m not sure if everyone will be able to understand what I’m saying. I hope to learn from other stokers the methods for adjusting furnace deviations. My understanding of the “direction of smoke flow” is still limited, as it’s something that cannot be seen or touched.
