The unit manufactured a jacketed tank some time ago. Due to improper use, excessive pressure built up inside the jacket, causing the tank body to bulge inward severely. How can this be repaired?
An analysis should be conducted based on the specific circumstances. If deformation occurs during use, such containers are generally deemed unusable. Otherwise, it can be used continuously or under restricted conditions.
It can be reshaped with a reinforcing ring added inside, but it can probably only be used at a lower grade.
Hehe, pressure vessels require a high level of roundness, so for repairs it’s probably necessary to cut out a piece, fill in the gap, and add reinforcement rings as a precaution.
The deformed parts of the inner cylinder can be repaired using jigs and jacks. One of the reactors in our facility is an imported jacketed reactor, and a similar equipment failure occurred due to overpressure in the jacket’s cooling water. Eventually, this method was used for repair by the equipment processing plant of Sinopec Company No. 4; after inspection by the boiler inspection agency, the reactor was found to be in good condition and has been in use ever since. However, the repair costs are quite high! :lol
