After opening other DWG files and then opening the pipe layout diagram I need to use, I found that all the fonts in it had changed. How can I restore them to their original format?
This is because there is a discrepancy between your font library and the original font library used in the graphics; the fonts used in those graphics are not available in your computer’s software font library. You can either improve your font library or ask the other party for the font files directly
When opening a file, you will be asked to select a font; just choose the original one
You can also download a trial version of Acme CAD Converter from the Internet; using this software to open CAD files eliminates garbled text. Additionally, it solves the problem of blurred text when CAD files are converted to PDF format due to font enlargement.
CAD has its own font library, with a folder named Fonts that contains all the CAD font identification files. The user must have opened the CAD program on another computer, and that computer does not have the original font files, which is why the original fonts cannot be recognized. It simply cannot be recognized; the original CAD file has not been altered or damaged. By copying the CAD font library from the original computer to the new one, it will be possible to display it.
Change your font when you open the CAD drawing
This is a common issue; I carry my own fonts on a USB drive, so I’m good no matter where I go.
Thank you all; after changing the font, it indeed returned to its original appearance
The font library is missing some font files. When trying to open it, check for the names of those missing font files, locate them, and place them in the FONTS folder within the installation files; this way, no error message about missing fonts will appear next time. If those font files are not available, use the gbcbic.shx font as a substitute; this will work in most cases without causing any garbled text.
The reason might be that the font from the original DWG file is not available in your AutoCAD font library. Ask the colleague who gave you this file for their font library file, and place it in the Font folder within your AutoCAD file directory. Then, after opening the file, select the font to be used, and the problem should be solved!
