Let’s discuss: What are the factors that affect the low condensation efficiency of ammonia coolers in aqueous solution circulation processes?
Liquid ammonia contains oil or is clogged, resulting in a reduced heat exchange efficiency; The amount of liquid ammonia is too small, or the temperature of the cooling medium is too high, or the volume of the cooling medium is too large, exceeding the cooler’s capacity ; The pressure of gaseous ammonia is too high, making it difficult to remove heat.
To ensure effective condensation, it is essential to have a large amount of cooling water; even when the water temperature is low in winter, one of the circulation pumps must not be stopped; In summer, due to the high water temperature, it is even more necessary to keep the pressure of the ammonia cooler at 1.7 Mpa. Additionally, an increase in the amount of inert gas also affects the condensation efficiency ; In the gas phase of the absorption tower, the CO2 level is slightly above the specified limit; over an 8-hour period, this substance accumulates on the tubes of the ammonia cooler, leading to overpressure in Section 1, which in turn causes PV301 to open gradually ; Poor circulating water quality causes scaling on the tube bundles ; Low purity of CO2 gas and a large volume of anti-corrosion air are also among the reasons.
The factors affecting the low condensation efficiency of ammonia coolers in the aqueous solution circulation process are as follows: 1. Poor quality of the circulating water leads to scaling inside the tubes of the ammonia cooler, which reduces heat transfer efficiency and consequently lowers the ammonia condensation efficiency. 2. If the amount of circulating water is too low, the heat of condensation of gaseous ammonia cannot be removed, which also leads to a decrease in the efficiency of ammonia condensation. 3. A high inlet temperature of the circulating water reduces the heat transfer temperature difference, which also leads to a decrease in the ammonia condensation efficiency. 4. If the pressure of the circulating water is too low, it prevents the circulating water from entering the ammonia cooler, which will certainly affect the efficiency of ammonia condensation. 5. Leakage in the ammonia cooler: Ammonia easily forms scale together with the salts in the circulating water, which reduces the efficiency of ammonia condensation. 6. Over-temperature of the exhaust gas from the absorption tower leads to an excess level of CO2; ammonium carbonate crystals form on the outer walls of the heat exchange tubes in the ammonia cooler, which in turn reduces the efficiency of ammonia condensation.
⑴To ensure condensation efficiency, it is essential first to have a large volume of water in the cooling cycle; ⑵Additionally, an increase in the amount of inert gas also affects the condensation efficiency; ⑶ A low pressure in the first stage has a more significant impact during summer; ⑷ The water level in the ammonia cooler is not full.
