I have seen snakeskin pipes used before, but after only a few uses, the pipes became old and hardened. I wonder what kind of materials do you guys use for temporary steam pipes?
Black rubber tube. It is for temporary use anyway. It is convenient and lasts a long time.
Metal hoses can last a long time
Rubber hoses are absolutely fine, but the quality must be acceptable. They must be at least three layers of wire and are cheaper than metal hoses. It's temporary anyway. If possible, use carbon steel or metal hoses, which are safer.

You cannot use ordinary rubber hoses. You should use high-pressure rubber hoses. When buying, you can ask the manufacturer for pressure requirements.

Just use a high-pressure rubber hose. This is the high-pressure rubber hose we use. It has been used for two months without any problem.
The material of the steam pipe has little to do with the pressure. If the temperature is low, no more than 450 degrees Celsius, just use No. 20 steel. The pressure has something to do with the thickness of the pipe. If the steam temperature is less than 450 degrees, use 20 steel. If the steam temperature is less than 530 degrees, use CrMo steel. We generally use more 15CrMo (G). No matter how high the temperature is for heat-resistant steel, try using 304 stainless steel.
Generally, a black rubber tube is used, which is of course low-pressure steam. I don’t know what pressure level steam you are connecting to.
I don't know how high the steam pressure is. If the pressure is around 0.3Mpa, there is no problem with using a black rubber tube.
It's okay to connect the rubber pipe to low-pressure steam (0.25MPa) or low-pressure condensate. If it is higher, the safety hazard will be great.
