Under what circumstances is a gel ball cleaning device used? What is its function?
Function: The gel ball cleaning device is a piece of equipment used to effectively clean the condenser cooling tubes during the operation of steam turbine units. The performance of this device directly affects the degree of cleaning of the turbine condenser and its heat transfer efficiency. Working principle: The rubber balls are inserted into the ball filling chamber through the access hole in that chamber; the number of balls used is approximately 10% of the number of cooling water tubes in the condenser. First, open the ball valve of the ball collection net, then start the rubber ball pump. Next, open the exhaust valve on the ball chamber to release the air inside it, and close the exhaust valve afterward. Then open the ball valve located in the middle of the ball delivery pipeline. Once the water flow is operating normally, slowly open the switching valve of the ball chamber; the rubber balls will then be carried by the circulating water flow into the condenser water chamber. Under the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the circulating water, the rubber balls clean the sediment and dirt inside the cooling tubes, scrubbing them once so that the sediment and dirt on the inner walls of the tubes are carried away by the water flow. Driven by the circulating water, the rubber balls enter the collection net; there, they are separated from the water flow and then pumped out by a rubber ball pump and reintroduced into the chamber where they are stored. This process repeats continuously to keep cleaning the cooling tubes of the condenser.
