Is there a guideline that in cryogenic vessels, vertical hatch types should be avoided as much as possible? As a result, it is difficult to insulate manhole suspension columns, whereas rotary cover manholes can be easily covered entirely with an insulation layer. Once the insulation around the suspension columns is damaged, it can easily cause water in the air to condense, and over time this can lead to damage to the insulation layer. When the pressure rating of the rotary cover manhole is high, the manhole cover becomes heavy and difficult to open. Please share your views on this issue.
It shouldn’t be that extreme. Does insulation also need to be considered for the suspension columns? What about that support?
It’s best not to install quick-opening manholes! !
I have not seen low-temperature containers equipped with quick-opening manholes, but considering the operating conditions of such containers, it is likely safer to avoid using quick-opening manholes.
Our unit uses a regular hole with two handles
Pressure vessels for actuation devices generally do not have manholes. It is indeed necessary for use; a regular manhole will suffice. To open the manhole, the equipment has to be stopped, and the temperature must be at room level before one can enter. The original poster shouldn’t worry
