Our factory’s ammonia storage system uses shut-off valves that are specifically designed for ammonia, but they do not perform well. These valves were pressurized before installation, yet they still experience internal leakage as soon as they are installed in the system, which causes difficulties in daily operations. May I ask the experts: what type of valve would be a better choice?
It turns out that our factory uses globe valves with stainless steel valve cores. I wonder what other classmates think?
Buy ammonia valves of good quality; imported ones are definitely reliable

It might be caused by impurities, especially with the valves at the bottom. Special ammonia valves typically use babbitt sealing surfaces; if the medium is clean, they should last for a long time and provide good sealing performance. We use domestically produced valves.
By increasing the pressure level, our operating pressure is now 1.78 MPA plus or minus 0.03 MPA; we previously used 25 kilograms of pressure, but now it has been changed to 40 kilograms
Choose a pressure rating that is one level higher; the pipes must be thoroughly purged before use. Generally, ammonia shut-off valves are used in pairs. Select manufacturers that are reputable.
A dual-valve arrangement is possible; the first valve is a ball valve – the Q41F-40 type is used for diameters below DN50, while the Q47F-40 type is used for diameters above DN80 – and it is used to shut off the flow. The second valve is a globe valve of the J41H-40 type, which is used to regulate the flow rate. This information is provided for reference only
