When there is a problem of layering of the reaction products, such as when the products are H2O and benzene, what type of reactor should be used for simulation, and how can the composition of each layer be determined? ? Seeking advice from experts
VAPOR_LIQUID_LIQUID, DECANT WATER STREAM can be set
(Weak question: Which module is used for liquid-liquid separation? Is FLASH2 used for gas-liquid separation?) )
Using a decanter, it is possible to achieve liquid-liquid separation, but attention must be paid to the issue of the first phase and the second phase.
I really want to learn more about simulations related to the response of aspen*learn*! There is just no information on this topic. If any expert can provide it, thanks in advance
Three-phase flashing can be used for stratification
The separation of benzene and water is relatively simple. I made an error when simulating the separation of solids and liquids; it seems the problem lies in setting the first phase and the second phase. Could experts explain what is meant by the \"Simulation approach\" option? What do \"True species\" and \"Apparent components\" mean?
True species and Apparent components mean true components and apparent components. For example, in saltwater, the actual components are water, H+, H3O+, OH-, Na+, Cl-, etc., while the apparent components are merely water and salt. And Simulation approach means the simulation method.
Thank you for the explanation from nbe above~ But I still can’t figure it out. What I’m trying to simulate is the stratification phenomenon that occurs when HI and H2SO4 are present together with an excess of iodine (in solid form). I’m not sure whether ASPEN can accurately simulate this phenomenon...... Is there anyone experienced who can help me try it? @@
In the I2, HI, H2O system I simulated, the mass ratio was 7:2:14. Part of the iodine existed in the form of I3-, while the excess iodine precipitated; as a result, the solution had layers of H2O, HI, and I3-. The experimental results showed layering, but when using ASPEN’s Decanter model, no layering occurred. Could someone please advise me? Is there something I need to pay attention to during my simulations?~~~
