I would like to ask about the tube specifications of the shell-and-tube methanol synthesis towers used by others; ours are 44*2
Our company uses 38*2 tube bundles, with 4513 tubes and a length of 6000 mm. Unfortunately, the plant has not yet been put into operation; these days it’s even difficult to get in touch with the relevant parties. It seems the impact of the financial tsunami will continue for some time yet
Push for it myself; I hope more people will introduce it
The coarse ones correspond to syngas with a low carbon content, while the fine ones correspond to syngas with a high carbon content; they are mainly used for the synthesis of methanol from coal gas.
Ours is also 38*2, with a top tower and a bottom tower; the bottom tower is of the coil type
All the units in our factory are of the 38*2 type, with 4513 tubes per unit. We have two sets of such equipment, and their performance is quite good; there has been no issue of blockages, and the pressure difference is also acceptable
Our methanol synthesis tower reaction tubes made from coke oven gas are also 44*2 in size, with 3,869 of them having a length of 7,000
Is your synthesis tower designed by Chengdu General? Are there any defects?
The six-meter version was designed in the 1990s; those produced after 2005 were all seven meters long, and nowadays most are 7.5 meters long. This is related to the improvements in the quality of our catalysts. (Changed)
With such thin walls, the equipment will be damaged as soon as pressure is lost on either side of the tube.
