Our factory uses plate heat exchangers, but crystals often form between the plates and the gaskets, causing leaks. Is there any effective way to prevent this?
Increasing the temperature might help
If nothing else works, reduce the concentration of the brine – it’s a last resort! Brine is highly corrosive, so be careful; increasing the temperature will accelerate corrosion! So, it’s necessary to find a balance between increasing the temperature and diluting!
Is there a better solution?
Since there’s no good solution, one has to clean it with fresh water regularly
What is the heating medium? Is it hot water? If so, switch them regularly: let the brine flow through hot water, and let hot water flow through the brine. Also, plate heat exchangers using brazing.
