I’m not very familiar with this. Here, the lighting used along the roadsides are ordinary explosion-proof lamps, while in other areas standard lighting circuits are used. In tank areas or loading platforms, explosion-proof high-mast lamps with a height of 30 or 40 meters are employed; these lamps typically have 12 or 24 metal halide lamps or high-pressure sodium lamps installed in them.
Can solar street lights be installed?
It’s possible, but it’s not mature. It is very expensive, and the battery has a limited lifespan. Dust on solar panels can affect photovoltaic conversion, and this is a concern in the north where it doesn’t rain often (street lights are too tall to clean easily). We can consider LVD or LED street lights for energy savings.
