Nitrogen seal tank configuration issues

This post was last edited by jyszyx on 2009-5-12 at 12:04. I have a question for experts: There are 4 raw material storage tanks (7 meters high and 6 meters in diameter). The materials stored in these tanks need to be isolated from air, so nitrogen is used to seal the tanks. The required nitrogen pressure for sealing is 1200 Pa, while the normal exhaust pressure of the vent valves is 1700 Pa. The nitrogen supply is regulated to maintain a pressure of 1200 Pa. In principle, each tank should be equipped with its own inlet valve and vent valve. However, could we consider saving costs by connecting the 4 tanks in parallel and using just one nitrogen control valve to supply nitrogen to all of them, with each tank still having its own vent valve? Can this configuration effectively achieve the purpose of nitrogen sealing? Why?
Personally, I think it should work, but I don’t really recommend it – using one for all four seems to mean that there’s no proper individual adjustment possible
