:) I encountered a problem today at one location regarding the \"lower drum water level\" – could it be that some boilers have two or more drums? If anyone knows the answer, please help.:D
Large water-tube boilers generally consist of two steam drums at the top and bottom, with a convection tube bundle in between them.
Industrial boilers often come with dual drum designs; There are relatively few power station boilers; those with a single steam drum are more common, but boilers operating at supercritical conditions or above do not have steam drums
Are the terms \"upper boiler drum\" and \"steam drum\" just different names for the same thing? I think \"upper and lower boiler drums\" is a better way to refer to them; could someone with expertise please explain this?
Power station boilers are usually of the drum type, arranged vertically with the upper part containing the steam space, also known as the steam drum.
I tend to agree with what was said on the second floor, as boilers or waste heat boilers in general chemical plants usually have a single steam drum. However, thermal power plants and those used for combined heat and power generation employ large-scale boilers, and the type mentioned by the original poster is quite common
In power station boilers, smaller boilers with a capacity of around 20–35 T typically have numerous heating surfaces installed in order to increase their output; for example, convection tubes serve as heating surfaces that connect the upper and lower boiler drums. Dual boiler drums can help extend the time during which the boiler remains dry, but power station boilers with a capacity greater than 35 T do not use dual boiler drums – they usually have only one steam drum. The so-called horizontal type with a single boiler drum.
The function of a steam drum is to hold both steam and water, as well as to separate them; whereas the drum below can only serve the purpose of holding water. That’s why they have different names... Are there any other opinions? Feel free to share them ------- Fujian Dongfang Boiler Energy Saving
Industrial water-tube boilers all have two steam drums, but I have never seen one in which a water level gauge is installed on the lower steam drum; Both power station boilers and shell boilers have a steam drum ; A DC boiler does not have a steam drum.
The lower drum is filled with water, so a water level gauge is not necessary.
