What are your methods of thermal compensation for pipelines?
Commonly used methods include using the natural compensation of pipe bends and adding square compensators or casing compensators (expansion joints).
There are naturally compensated ∏-type compensators, bellows compensators, sleeve-type compensators, and spherical compensators.
Thermal displacement of the pipeline refers to the thermal elongation caused by thermal expansion when the temperature of the medium in the pipeline is higher than the ambient temperature. There are two ways to compensate for pipelines: natural compensation and compensator compensation. Natural compensation uses the natural bending and torsion of the pipeline layout to produce deformation to absorb the thermal elongation of the pipeline to eliminate the thermal stress of the pipeline. Natural compensation should be used as much as possible. When natural compensation cannot meet the compensation requirements, a compensator can be set up for thermal compensation. When selecting a compensator, one should choose a compensator with small maintenance workload, reliable operation and low price according to the laying conditions.
