As for by how much it should be increased, you need to calculate it yourself; use the extraction rate as a guide – the amount remaining after the nitrogen has been extracted is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. An oxygen purity level above 30% is quite dangerous, as many metals can catch fire at such levels.
In the exhaust gases emitted by the silencer of a typical nitrogen generator, the oxygen concentration is often around 40%; it’s best to stay away if there are flammable or explosive substances in the vicinity!
The oxygen concentration in exhaust gases is generally around 24%, which is not much higher than the oxygen content in ambient air, so it can be considered safe.
