The future of piping design work

Is there anyone who works in a design institute? Is there a future in pipeline work? I work in pipeline design at a chemical plant’s design department. Is it easy to switch to a design firm or a chemical engineering company? I already have a solid practical understanding of pipe fittings and construction sites, and I’m familiar with many regulations and standards; the downside is that I’ve never been involved in large-scale engineering projects.
Personally, I think these past two years have been a golden period for the development of the petrochemical industry. There have been numerous large-scale projects over these years, which represent an excellent opportunity to hone one’s skills and improve one’s competence. It seems to be a promising field. The best way to significantly enhance one’s skills is to work in professional design firms or engineering companies; only in this way can one achieve better progress and development.
