There are several methods that can be used for calculation: 1. Calculate based on the mass balance on the anode side: A. The amount of saltwater entering the anode side, the amount of water introduced into the system; B、Amount of water carried away by the anode solution exiting the tank ; C、Amount of water carried away by chlorine gas ; D. Amount of water migrated = A – B – C. 2. Calculation based on the horizontal balance on the cathode side: A. Amount of catholyte entering the cathode side, i.e., the amount of water introduced into the system ; B、Amount of water carried away by the catholyte exiting the tank ; C、Amount of water carried away by hydrogen ; D. The amount of water migrated = B – A – C. 3. It can be calculated based on the operating conditions of the cell, using the molar ratio of sodium to water.
As sodium ions move from the anode chamber to the cathode chamber through the ion membrane, one molecule of sodium ion is accompanied by the movement of about 4 to 5 molecules of water
I think for the first floor, we should also subtract the amount of water consumed in the reaction with chlorine, as well as the amount of water used for water electrolysis. The amount of water used for water electrolysis is a significant portion.
In this system, the electrolysis of sodium chloride remains the preferred method, while water electrolysis is no longer viable for production.
